Crossed Out brings together the evidence, the broader political context and, most importantly, the experiences of people who have personally lived through these realities.
‘We are not going to Washington merely to complain about South Africa,’ Roets said. ‘Our purpose is to present evidence, honour victims and argue for practical solutions.'
The three participants are Amanda Platt, Heidie Taljaard and Leon Lotz. Each will bring a different perspective on the human consequences of farm attacks.
‘Crossed Out is intended to help international audiences understand not only what is happening in South Africa, but why it is happening and what can be done about it,’ said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
The media are invited to attend the conference and vigil. Interview opportunities will be available with project organisers, speakers (including victims of farm attacks), and international partners.
The documentary examines a number of the central issues that underpin the White Cross Project, including farm murders, political incitement, race-based legislation, threats to property rights and the broader political crisis in South Africa.
