‘Crossed Out is intended to help international audiences understand not only what is happening in South Africa, but why it is happening and what can be done about it,’ said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
The media are invited to attend the conference and vigil. Interview opportunities will be available with project organisers, speakers (including victims of farm attacks), and international partners.
The documentary examines a number of the central issues that underpin the White Cross Project, including farm murders, political incitement, race-based legislation, threats to property rights and the broader political crisis in South Africa.
"During the campaign's Washington programme, 3,000 white crosses will be displayed to commemorate victims of farm murders and to bring the human cost of farm attacks to the attention of an international audience."

The most important step towards achieving this is not some form of parliamentary intervention, but for families and communities to function independently by taking ownership of their own freedom. We must fill the political vacuum in South Africa by accepting responsibility ourselves.'
