Lex Libertas today announced an upcoming documentary film, Crossed Out: Confronting Persecution in South Africa, which will be released as part of the White Cross Project in September.
The documentary examines a number of the central issues that underpin the White Cross Project, including farm murders, political incitement, race-based legislation, threats to property rights and the broader political crisis in South Africa.
The film does not merely focus on the symptoms of the crisis. It also considers the deeper structural questions surrounding South Africa’s political order and explores the case for sustainable solutions based on freedom, decentralisation and self-governance.
Crossed Out forms part of Lex Libertas’s broader effort through the White Cross Project to bring the realities facing Afrikaners and other cultural minorities to the attention of an international audience, while directing that attention towards practical and sustainable solutions. The White Cross Project will culminate in Washington, D.C. in September, where 3,000 white crosses will be displayed on the National Mall in remembrance of farm murder victims.
The documentary will be published as part of the White Cross Project, while Lex Libertas is also arranging screenings in Washington, D.C. during the project’s programme in September.
‘Crossed Out is intended to help international audiences understand not only what is happening in South Africa, but why it is happening and what can be done about it,’ said Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas.
The first teaser for the documentary is released today.
