Lex Libertas to release a series of reports on minority persecution in South Africa
Pretoria — Lex Libertas will soon release a series of reports detailing the extent to which minorities in South Africa are being persecuted. This comes after the public statement by the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio in which he expresses concern about the direction in South Africa.
“Even though there are amplified voices in South Africa that would like to brush an undeniable crisis under the table by merely claiming that the crisis isn’t a genocide, the warnings from Washington reflect what any reasonable person already knows,” says Dr Ernst Roets, Executive Director of Lex Libertas. “Minority communities are increasingly exposed as a result of a discriminatory policy framework, incitement of violence and the targeting of private property, to name only a few. These realities cannot be ignored.”
The upcoming reports will provide evidence for both domestic and international audiences assessing the seriousness of South Africa’s crisis.
